Learners joining Applebee Wood for EYFS are generally those with severe learning difficulties. All learners started and ended their Reception year operating significantly below National Expectations. All pupils were recorded as Emerging on entry to school and at the end of EYFS, reception year.

10 learners are now at the end of the EYFS.

80% of learners (8 out of 10 learners) made expected progress.

As there is no national data available for KS1 learners and the Key Stage is two years, we expect learners to make progress which is at least half of the expected progress for learners of the same cohort across KS2 (4 years). Progress is benchmarked with the NWSCAP (Northwest Specialist Curriculum, Assessment and Pedagogy) progress charts 2025-26.
